1. Early Life  Career starting 




John Stamos, born on August 19, 1963, in Cypress, California, grew up with his mom Loretta (a model), dad William (a restaurant owner), and younger sisters Janeen and Alaina. His dad, originally a Greek immigrant with the last name Stamatopoulos, ran fast food places where John worked during his youth. As a teenager, he also worked at Duke’s and Yellow Basket in Orange County. While at John F. Kennedy High School, Stamos played drums in the marching band and was a fan of The Beach Boys, whom he later performed with. Although he initially planned to attend Cypress College in 1981, he shifted gears and pursued an acting career instead, landing a role on “General Hospital” just three weeks later.

Stamos acted as Blackie Parrish on the soap opera “General Hospital” from 1982 to 1984. During this time, he received a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award and won two Soapy Awards for his performances. After that, he landed leading roles in the CBS sitcom “Dreams,” which ran for 12 episodes in 1984, and the NBC show “You Again?,” which aired 26 episodes from 1986 to 1987.

In 1986, he made his debut on the big screen with a starring role in “Never Too Young to Die.” John then started playing Jesse Katsopolis, also known as “Uncle Jesse,” on ABC’s “Full House” in 1987. He appeared in all 192 episodes throughout the sitcom’s eight seasons.

In 2008, Stamos paid $900,000 for a unit on the 10th floor of the Eastern Columbia building in downtown Los Angeles. John and Caitlin initially met while both were guest-starring on “Law and Order: SVU” in 2011.
